Picture from hotel

Image
Hi everyone after much searching I only could only find this picture that I took from my stay at  City Express Junior . This view is looking hacia el sur.  I labeled it so you can better understand what you are looking at. Color Purple: This is the clinic  where I went to get my vaccinations and chest x-ray done. Color Gray: When you cross over the bridge you walk to the left you will see the US Consulate                        building and if you walk about a block past the consulate you will see the ASC  building. As you can see a lot of the places you will have to visit are in the same area, and there are quite a few restaurants close by. También hay un starbucks next to the mall where I spent a lot of my time :)  Hopefully this image will put some of you at ease. When I was there, they where b

Final thoughts on this process

So when I was at the airport in el paso ( ELP ) waiting for my flight,  I was looking through the paperwork given to me at the border crossing. This is what is required to pay in order to receive your green card. Then I had to go to the social security office to change my card to an official one instead of the one that DACA gives with work authorization only. Then I was done with the whole process.  Overall I was in juarez a total of 8 days and I remember thinking wow the people were extremely friendly, helpful, generous etc. I can't say enough nice things. I was told not to go out past a certain hour and how dangerous it was. At no point while I was

Going home

Despues de 8 dias finalmente me podia regresar a casa. I booked my flight and made arrangements for a taxi to come take us through the border and to the airport. Side note I just want to say to the taxi drivers that take people through the border thank you so much for your patience. It takes a while sometimes especially during peak times. One thing I will say about the people that work there, I wasn't sure what was going on that day but they where taking their sweet time taking care of people. They would take 1 person at a time all the while socializing, laughing, sharing personal stories and making plans during and after assisting each person.  There where 3 agents available to work but like I said they where too busy socializing. Se sentia com

Pick up packet day

Hi everyone hopefully I not boring you guys with all this information. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask I will try to answer what I can. So when you get approved you get a green paper with instructions as to where to pick up your DHL packet with everything you need to cross the border safely. You basically log into this site that tells you if your packet is ready to be picked up. Necesitaba una computadora, so lo que yo hice fue preguntarle a mi hermana if she could log in everyday to see when I could go pick up my packet. Day 1 nothing, day 2 nothing, finally day 3 post interview my packet was ready!! I was so happy. You choose where you want to pick up your packet, si me acuerdo bien a mi me preguntaron el dia de la entrevista donde queria recojer mi paquete. I chose the same place from where I got my fingerprints done, the ASC Applicant Service Cent

Interview day 2

Day 4 Part 2 So I went up to the window I got this younger looking gentleman, he asked for my paperwork. I remember asking my lawyer if i should bring my DACA stuff and he said no you will not need it. In that moment I was panicking because I did not have it with me. He said to me hold on, and proceeded to  ask someone next to him my situation, I overheard the other guy tell him its up to you what you want to do. He then looked at me and said promise to rip up any DACA paperwork when you get home, I gladly said yes of course. Después me dijo felicidades y ten un buen viaje a casa. Dure como 5 minutos hablando con el. I literally wanted

Interview day

Day 4: Part 1 The dreaded interview day.... When you go there make sure you dress up a bit, wear something you would wear to an interview. I think it shows them you are serious about this process and want to make a good impression. Be prepared to wait, from start to finish  the process took about 3.5 hours. Cuando te pones en linea they scan your passport and you go through security. Then they lead you to these huge outdoor waiting areas until you are taken in groups of 10 inside another building to talk to someone. While waiting here you see people coming out of the building with huge smiles on their faces waivi

Quick and easy...

Day 3 On this day I had an appointment to get my fingerprints done at this place called ASC- Applicant Service Center . Esta ubicado al lado del Consulado Americano. Tenia mi cita a las 2pm. Yo llegue a la 1:30pm. I got there early but I was not allowed to go inside I had to wait outside in the middle of July, it was HOT. A word of warning don't take anything with you that day besides your passport, your appointment letter and other paperwork ect. Trust me when I say this, I made a mistake of bringing in my purse with me and the security guard asked me about every single item inside. I was asked to throw away my gum a granola bar and I forget what else.
