Pick up packet day

Hi everyone hopefully I not boring you guys with all this information. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask I will try to answer what I can. So when you get approved you get a green paper with instructions as to where to pick up your DHL packet with everything you need to cross the border safely. You basically log into this site that tells you if your packet is ready to be picked up. Necesitaba una computadora, so lo que yo hice fue preguntarle a mi hermana if she could log in everyday to see when I could go pick up my packet. Day 1 nothing, day 2 nothing, finally day 3 post interview my packet was ready!! I was so happy. You choose where you want to pick up your packet, si me acuerdo bien a mi me preguntaron el dia de la entrevista donde queria recojer mi paquete. I chose the same place from where I got my fingerprints done, the ASC Applicant Service Cent

Interview day 2

Day 4 Part 2 So I went up to the window I got this younger looking gentleman, he asked for my paperwork. I remember asking my lawyer if i should bring my DACA stuff and he said no you will not need it. In that moment I was panicking because I did not have it with me. He said to me hold on, and proceeded to  ask someone next to him my situation, I overheard the other guy tell him its up to you what you want to do. He then looked at me and said promise to rip up any DACA paperwork when you get home, I gladly said yes of course. Después me dijo felicidades y ten un buen viaje a casa. Dure como 5 minutos hablando con el. I literally wanted

Interview day

Day 4: Part 1 The dreaded interview day.... When you go there make sure you dress up a bit, wear something you would wear to an interview. I think it shows them you are serious about this process and want to make a good impression. Be prepared to wait, from start to finish  the process took about 3.5 hours. Cuando te pones en linea they scan your passport and you go through security. Then they lead you to these huge outdoor waiting areas until you are taken in groups of 10 inside another building to talk to someone. While waiting here you see people coming out of the building with huge smiles on their faces waivi

Quick and easy...

Day 3 On this day I had an appointment to get my fingerprints done at this place called ASC- Applicant Service Center . Esta ubicado al lado del Consulado Americano. Tenia mi cita a las 2pm. Yo llegue a la 1:30pm. I got there early but I was not allowed to go inside I had to wait outside in the middle of July, it was HOT. A word of warning don't take anything with you that day besides your passport, your appointment letter and other paperwork ect. Trust me when I say this, I made a mistake of bringing in my purse with me and the security guard asked me about every single item inside. I was asked to throw away my gum a granola bar and I forget what else.

So it begins.....

I just wanted to get it over with. I arrived there around 5:20 am, the guards and people working there where extremely friendly and helpful getting me to the right door. You see there are 2 buildings that have the same name so it's a bit confusing as to which one is the right one to enter through. But like I said the guards are very helpful. I liked how everyone working there was very friendly to the customers and to each other. It felt comfortable.  Once the guard checked my paperwork you are told to sit at some chairs in the middle of the room and then at exactly 6am they began calling people to different windows towards the front. It reminded me of being at

Traveling to Juarez

Day 1: Empiezo por decir how ever you choose to go to Mexico its up to you. Se pueden ir derecho al aeropuerto de Juarez o like I did I took a plane to El paso Tx.  A few days before my trip tough I called my hotel in Juarez and asked them if they had a taxi company that I could take from the airport in El paso across the border to Juarez. They where really nice and gave me the name of this guy and his phone number. A little nervous I called this number y contesto un señor que me dijo que me iba a cobrar $80 para llevarme para el hotel en Mexico. I agreed he stated he would be at the airport and to look for him. When we (my mom and I) landed we saw him and got in his taxi cab, from there we drove  to a border crossing point where they checked the car, then we proceeded to drive into Mexico and to our final destination el hotel se llama City Express Junior Juarez Consulado . This hotel is directly across the street from the U.S consulate and medical offices that you will need to go to

The start

After being on DACA my husband and I decided it was time for me to finally try to speak to a lawyer and see what could be done. To my surprise I was told that I qualified for a visa but I would have to leave the country and go to ciudad Juarez to go through the immigration process there. Even tough everything here went well as far as paperwork ect. todavía estaba nerviosa por ir a Juarez. I finally decided to go for it and after I think about a year I got my appointment date to be in Juarez. My lawyer advised me to be there a few days before my a

I thought why not here. Bueno here we go, I hope that I can answer some questions that you may have, and ease your mind before having to go through this process.  Voy a tratar de poner algo diferente cada día, until I feel that I have posted everything that I remember.
